1. Personal Data Administrator
The joint controllers of the personal data processed by the journal Geochronometria on the www.editorialsystem.com platform are:
1. Silesian University of Technology, hereinafter referred to as the University, which can be contacted by mail at the address: ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, or via email: RR1@polsl.pl
2. "Bentus" (Bartosz Stefaniak conducting business as a sole proprietorship), which can be contacted by mail at the address: os. Pod Lipami 14/19, 61-638 Poznań, or via email: kontakt@editorialsystem.com.

2. Data Protection Officer
The Silesian University of Technology has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted in all matters concerning the processing of personal data by mail at the address: ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, or via email: iod@polsl.pl

3. Purposes of Processing
Personal data is processed for the following purposes:
a) By the Silesian University of Technology - using the service provided by Bentus and in paper form - for review purposes and publishing purposes, including obtaining publishing licenses from the authors of publications.
b) By Bentus - using the service provided by Bentus - for the purposes of providing article submission services, reviewing, processing works by editorial members and members of conference organizing committees, managing the journal's website.

4. Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of personal data by the Silesian University of Technology is based on grounds arising from Art. 6(1)(e) (performance of a task carried out in the public interest) and Art. 6(1)(b) (a contract signed with authors and reviewers or another agreement authorizing the publication of scientific works) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), as well as the provisions of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science. The processing of personal data by Bentus is based on grounds arising from Art. 6(1)(a) (the consent of the data subject) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract with the data subject). 5. Withdrawal of Consent
Consent can be withdrawn at any time by sending a request via email to: kontakt@editorialsystem.com, which does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before its withdrawal.

6. Retention Period of Personal Data
Personal data will be stored for the period resulting from the unified list of records developed based on the Act of 14 July 1983 on the national archival resource and archives. In the case of personal data processed based on consent, personal data will be processed until the consent is withdrawn.

7. Data Recipients
Entities performing public tasks. Personal data may also be transferred to partners providing technical and organizational support in the field of IT.

8. Rights Related to the Processing of Personal Data
You have the following rights related to the processing of personal data:
1. The right to access personal data;
2. The right to request the rectification of incorrect personal data and the completion of incomplete personal data;
3. The right to request the deletion of personal data if the grounds specified in Art. 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation are met;
4. The right to request the restriction of personal data processing;
5. The right to data portability, if the processing is carried out in an automated manner;
6. The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority dealing with personal data protection, i.e., the President of the Personal Data Protection Office;
7. The right to object to the processing of data.
9. Information on Automated Decision-Making
The data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
